Arlo White and White Satan: A Double Interview About One of Denver’s Weirdest Acts by Michael Roberts, Denver Westword, March 13, 2026

The doomy, deeply weird take on country and pop classics, which is now available to stream, suggests that the man at the center of the fascinating sonic storm is simultaneously possessed and fully capable of possessing others.”

A genre-bending re-imagining of country classics as darkly pastoral. The vocals are often processed and distorted so that while every song benefits from exquisite performances from Gregory Hill, Maureen Hearty and Kim 9,  each feels subversive and somehow off in a way that still works. Not in a William Shatner covering "Rocket Man" way. But listen to "Some Velvet Morning" (Lee Hazlewood and Nancy Sinatra), "She Thinks I Still Care" (George Jones), "Wichita Lineman" (Glen Campbell) and "Hello It's Me" (Todd Rundgren). For those familiar, there is something sinister and unsettling that is truly more Satanic music as considered by Anton LaVey, than the bombastic heavy metal of the 70's and 80's that modern day Puritans keyed into for the Satanic panic.

WHITE SATAN

Dark Country Doom Rebel!

White Satan is a Dark Country Western, Doom Metal, Rock N Roll Rebel Outlaw from Denver, Colorado!

White Satan. The Name is Personal, Political, Literal, Spiritual, Metaphysical...

White Satan for all intents and purposes is a
Grief Vehicle. Grieving for the past, for the present, and for the future.

White Satan is releasing their debut ep wolf
March 2026, followed by a much heavier effort later in the year.

wolf is a set of reimagined classics featuring White Satan's signature snarl, attitude, and surprising vulnerability. Opening track She Thinks I Still Care answers the question -- what happened that night Brian Eno and Robert Fripp ran into George Jones at an Alabama roadhouse?

Tears were shed during recording and playback of Wichita Lineman, where White Satan bares his soul in this definitive homage to Glen Campbell's version.

Some Velvet Morning finds our fearless leader lost in the mystic with his faithful guardian angel Kim 9, as they surmount the mountain known as Lee Hazlewood & Nancy Sinatra.

Hello, It's Me is the cultish psychedelic tour de force you've always known you wanted, masterfully produced by Gregory Hill.

How much is too much? If you listen closely (not too close!) to Hello I'm A Jukebox & Shit In The Bed you just might hear the amount of excess that went into summoning the beast for these sessions.

The album is expertly backed up by Colorado legends Farm Toad, Maureen Hearty (Drums) and Gregory Hill (Guitars, Keys, Sax & Vocals). The aforementioned Kim 9 lends her ethereal voice that truly guides the wolf home.
